Uruguay Confirm Four Home Internationals for May

The next stage of international competition for Los Teros is just around the corner with Uruguay confirming four home internationals for May. Before playing in the Nations Cup in Romania in June the South Americans will have had four home matches on consecutive weekends.

The national rugby stadium, the Estadio Charrúa will be the setting for home matches against Chile and Fiji while Uruguay will face the Argentina XV at the Estadio Supicci in Colonia del Sacramento, directly across the Rio de la Plata from Buenos Aires.

Prior to hosting Chile on May 07 Uruguay will play away internationals on April 23 and April 30 against Brazil and Paraguay in São Paulo and Asunción respectively. The match against Os Tupis is to be the first match of the South American A Championship.

Head Coach Esteban Meneses will be targeting three wins in the South American A Championship before playing two uncapped matches against there Fijian Warriors (Fiji ‘A’) on May 14 and 21. Meneses will also be seeking continued strong performances at the home ground following the round five win over the USA in the Americas Rugby Championship.

The fourth and final home fixture will be for the Sudamérica Rugby Cup. The competition has replaced the former CONSUR Cup following the rebranding of CONSUR to become Sudamérica Rugby.

Tickets to the four home internationals are now on sale with prices ranging as illustrated below. Admission is to be free-of-charge for children while a special offer will allow supporters to attend all four fixtures for $750 Uruguayan pesos.
