Urdapilleta Stars as Castres win in the Alps

On Saturday former Puma Benjamín Urdapilleta stared as Castres won in the Alps against Grenoble. The ten-time capped former Argentine international kicked seven goals for the visiting Castres and also had a hand in setting-up two of his team’s tries.

Urdapilletta was one of three South Americans playing for Castres at the Stade des Alpes. Also involved were Rodrigo Capó Ortega and Lucas Martínez. Of them the former joined Urdapilleta in the run-on team and did so as captain.

In winning the round 21 Top 14 fixture Castres moved up into the sixth position to now be inline for a post-season appearance in the barrage play-offs. Should Castres do so the team would also qualify for the 2016-2017 European Champions Cup.

A number of players in consideration for places in Guy Noves’ squad for the June tour of Argentina play their rugby for Castres. Should the club reach the barrage play-off’s then Noves would not have access to these players.
