Chile Schedule Three match European Tour for November

Los Cóndores November Internationals are now confirmed. Chile have scheduled a three match European tour for November. The matches will see the South Americans playing two test matches on the European continent and one match against a United Rugby Championship (URC) in Ireland.

Chile will play matches on Saturday November 05, Saturday, November 12 and Friday, November 18. The opening match will be a test match against Romania in Bucharest. It is to be a fixture between two teams that will compete at Rugby World Cup 2023.

Chile qualified for RWC 2023 as Americas 2 while Romania qualified as Europe 2. On the one hand, the qualification of the former came after historic wins over Canada and the USA. On the other hand, Romania qualified after a scandal wherein Spain were disqualified after having qualified for the World Cup.

Romania has strong relations with South America. The Oaks toured Uruguay in July this year. In addition, Romania has played Chile, Uruguay and Brazil in recent years. Romania will not face a South American country at the World Cup. The Eastern Europeans are in Pool B alongside Ireland, Scotland, South Africa, and Tonga.

Tonga is to be Chile’s second opponent in November. Like the match against Romania, Chile will take-on Tonga at the Stadionul Arcul de Triumf in Bucharest. The same venue played host to Romania vs Argentina in 2021. Chile’s matches in Romania will both be capped with world rankings on the line.

Los Cóndores will travel from Bucharest to Dublin for their final match. The fixture will be non-capped and will see Ireland’s strongest professional team taking on the South American country. Leinster will play at Energia Park against Los Cóndores on November 18.
