The Utah Warriors have re-signed one of their key attacking players for the 2023 Major League Rugby campaign. Eagles winger Mika Kruse has signed on for a third year at Salt Lake, having previously spent three seasons with the Raptors in Colorado.
Injuries affected Kruse’s form this past season though he still managed to play 13 games and score 3 tries. That stacks on the 6 tries he scored in 14 games during the 2021 campaign. While he started once at outside center and twice on the right wing, Kruse has settled in as the starting left winger for Utah.
Still just 24 years old, Kruse will look to earn a recall to the USA side in 2023 after missing out on the World Cup Qualifiers. Fans will be pleased to see his return, though Kruse’s combination with Mikey Te’o won’t be continued as the 2021 MLR Player of the Year has instead returned to San Diego.
