Colombia to tour Brazil in November

Colombia will play an away match against Brazil in November. The non-capped fixture will see As Yaras at home against Las Tucanes. The fixture marks the return of women’s international competition to Brazil following the global pandemic.

The venue for the match is soon to be confirmed. It will be played in Brazil on November 12. While Brazil has a lot of competition in Rugby Sevens, the match is to mark the first time wherein the Women’s senior side, As Yaras, will play on home soil.

As Yaras are now coached by South African AK Southey. He will have an eye on international competition in 2023 which will see Brazil facing Colombia in capped test matches. The 2023 matches are to be part of the South American region’s qualifying matches for the Women’s Rugby World Cup.

Brazil has competed in Women’s international matches since 2008. The first match saw As Yaras facing the Netherlands.
