Seattle signs San Diego hooker Peter Malcolm

The Seattle Seawolves have announced the signing of hooker Peter Malcolm on a three-year deal through the 2025 Major League Rugby season. A USA international with 11 test caps, the 28-year-old’s rights were acquired from the San Diego Legion in exchange for salary cap considerations.

Malcolm made 13 appearances for the Legion in 2022, splitting playing time first with New Zealander Matt Moulds and then another former Eagle in James Hilterbrand. Across three seasons with San Diego he totaled 33 games played with 10 tries scored.

It’s Malcolm’s third MLR club, having spent two seasons on Austin’s books though he missed the entirety of the 2018 campaign with a knee injury. In Seattle he joins another hooker with the same surname – Scotland u20 international James Malcolm – though the two are not related.
