Felix Kalapu has bid farewell to Old Glory DC and Major League Rugby after one season. The powerhouse forward has signed a three-year deal with the Western Force that ties him to the Super Rugby club through the 2025 season. He is currently playing with North Harbour, on loan from Auckland, in New Zealand’s National Provincial Championship.
Kalapu made an immediate impact for DC upon arrival. He played 8 games including 7 starts, primarily as a blindside flanker but also appearing at lock. The 22-year-old missed three games after being cited for a crunching hit on Ryan Nell just seconds into Kalapu’s club debut against ATL.
Three MLR players have now been confirmed as making Super Rugby moves. Kalapu will join Austin scrumhalf Ryan Louwrens at the Force. LA scrumhalf Harrison Goddard signed for the Waratahs.
