NOLA winger Nick Feakes moves to New York

NOLA Gold winger Nick Feakes will play for Rugby New York in the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 27-year-old has moved north in support of his partner who will be attending university in the area. New York will send salary cap considerations to NOLA to accommodate the transfer.

Feakes joined the Gold in 2019 after earning Collegiate All-American honors at Lindenwood. Originally from Canberra, Australia, he qualifies for the USA on residency. While he has most often been used as a winger in MLR, he has also played flyhalf and fullback and is a useful left-footed kicker.

During his first campaign with NOLA, Feakes memorably scored three tries in a snow-covered match at Utah. A serious knee injury ruled him out of the entirety of the 2021 season, but he returned to be a regular starter for the Gold this past season in the No11 shirt.
