Sears-Duru signs for Glasgow Warriors

Djustice Sears-Duru is headed back to the UK. The Canadian loosehead prop has signed a contract with defending Guinness Pro 12 championships Glasgow Warriors until the end of the season. The move comes off the back of some strong performances in the recent Americas Rugby Championship. Sears-Duru was also a standout in Canada’s World Cup warm-up fixture against Glasgow in Halifax.

The Ontario Blues product has now won 16 caps for Canada, starting four times. He made his test debut as a 19-year-old in 2013 after spending time in the Leicester Tigers academy, and returned to the Aviva Premiership club on a one-month trial following the World Cup in November.

Sears-Duru joins a Warriors side who have struggled somewhat this season, but are now in 6th spot on the table, tied with Munster on points but have one game at hand and trail Ulster by only four points for the final playoff spot. Glasgow has previously been the home of Taylor Paris, Connor Braid, and most notably DTH van der Merwe, and currently has US Eagles lock Greg Peterson on their roster.
