Barbados Awarded Hosts of International 7s Tourney

After two years of working on drawing the tournament to Barbados, the Barbados Rugby Football Union has been awarded the rights to host the Barbados International Rugby Sevens. The tournament, set to take place on December 10-11, 2016. The tournament has toggled back and forth between Trinidad and Tobago each of the past five years.

The tournament is set to be played in Holetown, Barbados. The tournament is expected to draw in twelve Senior Men’s and Women’s squads as well as eight U-20 Men’s and Women’s Club teams. Tournament organizers had been at work trying to bring an international level event to Barbados and had recently bid on hosting one of the Women’s World Series stops.
