Ex-England winger in USA lineup for Wales friendly

USA coach Rob Cain has named a squad of 22 players that will play an exhibition match against Wales in Llanelli on Saturday. Included in the Falcons XV are three uncapped players, among them Saracens winger Lotte Clapp. She has previously won 10 caps for England, notably suiting up opposite the Eagles during the 2016 Super Series in Utah.

Clapp makes the change via the new Union Transfer regulation, and is joined by another Premier 15s addition in Sale Sharks flanker Georgie Perris-Redding. The latter is US-born but raised in England. Former Glendale Merlins hooker Allie Schrenker, now at Durham University, is the third new name.

Schrenker is one of three players in the group not currently based in the Premier 15s. The others are fullback Tess Feury, currently with Railway Union in Dublin, and Chicago North Shore scrumhalf Olivia Ortiz. Exeter Chiefs duo Rachel Johnson and Gabby Cantorna will not play in the match due to injury.

Kickoff at Parc y Scarlets is set for 2pm local time, 9am Eastern. An online stream will not be provided by Welsh Rugby, with a highlights package instead to be posted on social media.
