USA Eagles scrumhalf Michael Baska has signed on with French Pro D2 side Rouen Normandie through the end of the 2022-2023 season. It’s the first overseas contract for the 27-year-old, who makes the move after four seasons of Major League Rugby split between NOLA Gold and the Utah Warriors.
This past year was a breakthrough season for Baska. He secured the starting role for Utah and helped lead the team to a Western Conference Final appearance. Baska’s form earned him a spot on the Eagles tour in July and he would make his test debut against England, finishing the year with three caps.
There are now two Eagles with Rouen including flanker Psalm Wooching, who has been a regular in the lineup since joining from the San Diego Legion. With Ruben de Haas playing for Saracens in the English Premiership, the USA now has two international scrumhalves playing in European club rugby.
