The Austin Gilgronis will host Rugby New York at Bold Stadium for a preseason contest on Saturday, January 29. Kickoff is set for 5pm local time in what will be Austin’s second warm-up match with a trip to San Diego on deck this coming Friday. This is New York’s only match before the regular season opens.
Meanwhile the planned game between NOLA Gold and the Houston SaberCats in New Orleans this coming Saturday, January 22, has been cancelled. Houston were due to split their squad after scheduling two games that day, but will now only play their game against the Dallas Jackals at AVEVA Stadium.
Of the 13 teams competing all but one now have at least one preseason game. The Utah Warriors have confirmed to Americas Rugby News that they will not play a warm-up fixture. An updated preseason schedule can be seen here.
