David Busby has re-signed with the Seawolves for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The Ireland u20 and Sevens international returns to contention after missing the entirety of the 2021 campaign with injury. It will be the third year in Seattle for the 27-year-old outside back.
Things have not gone smoothly for Busby since he signed on from Ulster ahead of the 2020 season. He appeared in all five matches in 2020 only to see the remainder of the season cancelled due to the pandemic. His last appearance in a Seawolves lineup was against Utah on March 7 of last year.
With the ability to play outside center, wing, and fullback, Busby is a valuable re-addition to the Seawolves backline. The squad already counts returnees Ross Neal and Lauina Futi, as well as Collegiate Draft pick Darell Williams among wing options. Busby notably hails from Portadown, just a short drive from Head Coach Allen Clarke’s home town of Dungannon in Northern Ireland.
