Tejerizo to join Los Jaguares in South Africa

Following the loss of Lucas Noguera Paz to a knee injury Roberto Tejerizo is to join Los Jaguares in South Africa. The 27 year old from Tucumán joins after having featured for the Argentina XV in the Americas Rugby Championship, captaining the team against Chile and Uruguay.

In the opening round draw against the USA in Houston, Tejerizo started at loosehead prop, joining Felipe Arregui in the starting front-row. Arregui has been training with the squad in South Africa but played no part in the opening round match against the Cheetahs.

Arregui is now likely to feature against the Sharks this coming Saturday as back-up to Santiago García Botta with Tejerizo arriving to provide emergency cover. Ramiro Herrera and Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro are the starting options for the tighthead prop position.

For Los Jaguares the loss of Noguera Paz is the second of two with Jerónimo de La Fuente having suffered a minor injury against the Cheetahs. His place has been taken by Lucas González Amorosino who featured in Sunday’s home Americas Rugby Championship match against Canada.

Los Jaguares Head Coach Raúl Pérez will name his team for the round two Super Rugby fixture against the Sharks. Kick-off time for the Saturday fixture is scheduled for 2pm Argentine time.
