Women’s Eagles coach Rob Cain has called up Beantown hooker Kathryn Treder for the overseas tour that begins with a match against Ireland in Dublin on Friday. She is the only addition in the squad that has seen five players drop out following last week’s matches against Canada at Infinity Park.
Treder is a straight replacement for the injured Joanna Kitlinski. Also out with injury is flyhalf Gabby Cantorna, while flanker Kathryn Johnson is unavailable due to work commitments. Midfielder Alev Kelter and wing Ilona Maher have returned to the USA Sevens program.
The Eagles saw seven names debut against the Canadians and depart with no uncapped players among the group of 27. Joanne Fa’avesi notably will miss the Ireland game but will arrive in time for the second test against England on Sunday, November 21.
