Seattle signs new Eagles cap Tavite Lopeti to long-term deal

The Seattle Seawolves have secured another top player on a long-term agreement. New USA international Tavite Lopeti has signed on through the 2024 Major League Rugby season. The Saint Mary’s Gaels product was the third overall selection in the 2021 Collegiate Draft.

Lopeti has enjoyed a rapid rise in recent weeks. After impressing in the USA High Performance camp he was immediately called up to the Senior Eagles squad for the World Cup Qualifiers. The 22-year-old center scored a try on debut against Canada and he will win his fifth cap against New Zealand on Saturday.

Seattle now boast an impressive cast of backs heading towards the 2022 season. Confirmed returning players include JP Smith, AJ Alatimu, Kieran Joyce, Ross Neal, and Lauina Futi with South African pair Dan Kriel and Juan Mostert joining Lopeti as a new name.
