Seawolves add Naulia Dawai and Matt Duncan

The Seattle Seawolves have added two more players to their Major League Rugby roster. Former Free Jacks back row Naulia Dawai and local prop Matt Duncan are available for selection in this weekend’s game against Old Glory DC.

Dawai, 33, started all five games for New England in 2020, splitting between openside flanker and eightman. The 7-times capped Fiji international has previously played for New Zealand provincial outfits Southland and Otago, Connacht in the Guinness Pro Championship, and the Asia Pacific Dragons.

This is the first professional contract for Duncan, the 28-year-old brother of Women’s Eagles winger Jennine Duncan. He played collegiate football for Charleston and only took up rugby in 2018 with Seattle Rugby Club. Duncan lined up at loosehead prop against the Seawolves in a 2019 preseason game.
