The South American fixtures for the Rugby World Cup 2023 qualifiers have been confirmed. Five South American countries will have the opportunity of joining Los Pumas at RWC 2023.
The new system will enable the possibility of three South American countries to compete at RWC 2023. Argentina has already qualified. Two of Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, and Uruguay could, in theory, also qualify.

The qualifiers will begin on June 26 with Brazil taking on Paraguay. Game two will be contested between Chile and Colombia one week later. The winners of the two matches will advance to face Uruguay in round two.
Uruguay is finalizing a warm-upfixture. It is yet to be made official, though the plans are for Uruguay to face the Argentina XV on Sunday, July 11. It would be a double-header with the Winner of Brazil vs Paraguay vs the Winner of Chile vs Colombia.
Brazil and Chile will have home advantage for their respective opening matches. There will be no return fixtures; instead, the two winning teams will travel to Montevideo to compete in the second, and final, round of South America’s (SAR) RWC 2023 qualifiers.
Canada and the USA will be paying close attention to Round Two. The winner of Round Two will face the winner of Canada vs USA (RAN). The winner of SAR vs RAN will qualify for RWC 2023 as Americas 1. Americas 1 will competed in Pool A against France, New Zealand, Italy, and Africa 1.
The SAR runner-up and the loser of Canada vs USA will also meet in a RWC qualifier. The winner of this contest will face the loser of SARN vs RAN. The winner of this match will qualify for RWC 2023 as Americas 2. The loser will enter repechage as Americas 3. Americas 3 will compete in Pool D of RWC 2023 against Argentina, England, Japan, and Oceania 1.
