New England signs Namibia back row Wian Conradie

The New England Free Jacks have signed Namibia international Wian Conradie for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. It’s welcome news for the 26-year-old loose forward who was left without a club following the sudden withdrawal of the Dallas Jackals.

Conradie arrives from the UK where he was playing for Doncaster Knights in the RFU Championship last season. Equally effective as a flanker or No8, he has won 19 caps for the Welwitschias and played in both the 2015 and 2019 World Cups.

With Tera Mtembu and Jack Ram yet to arrive due to visa delays, Conradie provides an immediate boost to start the season having already joined up with his new teammates. Other loose forwards available to the Free Jacks are Evan Geist, Justin Johnson, Jack Miller, and Joe Johnston, with second row Conor Kindregan also comfortable on the blindside flank.
