The NOLA Gold have signed versatile back Keanu Andrade for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. He arrives from the Cal Golden Bears, having been acquired from Rugby ATL in exchange for Ryan Rees following the recent supplementary draft.
Andrade arrives with a reputation for being a dynamic attacking player whose footwork combined with a low center of gravity makes him difficult to defend in one-on-one situations. He has played both scrumhalf and inside center for Cal, and even lined up as a hooker for the High School All-Americans.
The 23-year-old is the latest in a string of multi-talented backfielders to join the Gold. JP Eloff, Nick Feakes, and 2020 additions Robbie Coleman and Carl Meyer are all capable of playing across the backline. New signings Cian Barry and Kyle Rogers can also fill multiple roles.
