Houston signs Fijian winger Veramu Dikidikilati

The Houston SaberCats have added a third Fijian player for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. 23-year-old winger Veramu Dikidikilati arrives at his first professional club, joining from provincial side Naitasiri who compete in the local Skipper Cup.

Dikidikilati is a dynamic ball carrier who stands 5’11” (1.80m) and weighs 220lbs (100kg). Across the 2018 and 2019 World Rugby Pacific Challenge competitions he started six games for the Fiji Warriors, scoring an impressive seven tries against the development sides of Tonga, Samoa, and Japan.

Hailing from Lomai on the main island of Viti Levu, Dikidikilati follows countrymen Apisai Tauyavuca and Paula Balekana to Houston. He has played alongside the former at Naitasiri. Dikidikilati adds firepower to a backline that also includes Romania international Moa Maliepo.
