Rugby ATL signs lacrosse convert Jalen Tatum

Rugby ATL have announced the signing of Jalen Tatum for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 22-year-old Atlanta native was a competitive lacrosse player until switching to rugby just three years ago.

Tatum picked up the sport at Kennesaw State University and recently played three trial matches with Pathway 404, ATL’s development side. An impressive athlete who stands 6’5″ (1.95m), despite his size he has been earmarked for the openside flanker position.

There continues to be an array of back row talent available to coach Scott Lawrence for 2021. Newcomers Tatum and Mike Matarazzo join returnees Matt Heaton and Maciu Koroi, with Vili Helu, Harry Higgins, and Jason Damm all currently at 404. First choice No8 Ross Deacon is still to be confirmed for next season.
