The Seattle Seawolves have confirmed the return of Tim Metcher for a fourth Major League Rugby campaign. A staple in the No3 shirt since joining ahead of the inaugural 2018 season, the 29-year-old Australian has spent recent months playing for Southern Districts in the Shute Shield.
Metcher played all five games for Seattle during the shortened 2020 season, splitting time with Canadian international Jake Ilnicki. He has now appeared in every league game the Seawolves have played amassing an MLR record 33 caps including starts in both Championship Finals.
Seattle have confirmed just two players to date for the 2021 campaign, the first player-coach Mat Turner. London Irish revealed that Ross Neal will be returning, while a number of first choice players are expected to continue including Brad Tucker, JP Smith, Ben Cima, and captain Riekert Hattingh.
