Spain confirm November tour of Uruguay

Spain has confirmed a two-match tour of Uruguay in November. Los Leones will play matches against Los Teros on November 01 and November 06. The two match tour was reported by ARN earlier this month.

The tour will be Spain’s second second visit to Uruguay in as many years. Los Leones played away against Brazil, Chile, and Uruguay in June 2019. Spain won 22-16 in São Paulo, 29-22 in Curicó, and 41-21 in Montevideo.

As was the case in June 2019, Uruguay will play host to Spain at the Estadio Charrúa. The visitors will travel to South American on October 22 and return home on November 07. They will play against Los Teros on Sunday, November 01 and Friday, November 06.

Upon arriving back home, Los Leones will prepare for a third test match. Spain will play host to Portugal. The match was scheduled to be played earlier this year, only to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

An additional fixture was sought for Los Leones. Talks were held between Spain and Chile. However, the possibility of a match transpiring has concluded. Chile will, nonetheless, play international rugby in 2020. Los Cóndores will travel to Uruguay for the South American 4 Nations which starts on October 17.
