Old Glory signs San Diego prop Jamie Dever

Old Glory DC have announced the signing of Jamie Dever from the San Diego Legion. The 27-year-old prop is set to play for his third Major League Rugby club, having joined the Houston SaberCats at the tail end of the 2018 campaign.

Dever was initially on the SaberCats roster to start 2020 but made the switch to San Diego in the preseason. He appeared in three games of the Legion’s five games, starting the final game of the regular season against New York at Torero Stadium.

An Ireland u19 international, Dever is comfortable on both sides of the scrum but has primarily been a loosehead in MLR. With Tendai Mtawarira set to retire, Dever will add valuable experience and the ability to fill in at tighthead if needed. He is the third new front row player for Old Glory following Australian hooker James King and Scottish tighthead Steven Longwell.
