Gordon McRorie heading to Italian club AS Milano

Gordon McRorie is set to move to Italy to take up a player-coach role with Serie A club AS Milano. The 32-year-old will call Europe his home for the first time since arriving in Canada from Scotland in 2011. Milano have signed McRorie initially on a one-year deal with a two-year option.

Since making his test debut in 2014, McRorie has won 45 test caps with 283 points scored for his adopted nation. He was part of the 2015 World Cup team and was again selected for Japan in 2019, starting the games against Italy and New Zealand.

Milano intend to play McRorie at flyhalf, a position he has played often for Canada. He will also be tasked with coaching the backs under new Head Coach Alejandro Moreno, the former Italy international prop. McRorie assumed the Head Coach duties for Strathcona Druids upon his return from RWC 2019.
