Nick Boyer confirms LA move for 2021

US Eagles cap Nick Boyer will be playing for the new Los Angeles franchise in the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 6’3″ (1.90m) scrumhalf confirmed the move in conversation with Colton Strickler on the latest edition of the DNVR Rugby Podcast.

Boyer celebrated his 27th birthday just a week ago. Originally from Sacramento, he returns to his home state after appearing in all five games for the Colorado Raptors in 2020. Boyer played for the San Diego Legion in the 2018 and 2019 seasons where he was also part of the Eagles Sevens squad.

LA are yet to officially announce any player signings since selecting Stephen McLeish and Watson Filikitonga in the Collegiate Draft. Loosehead prop Blake Rogers confirmed his move from the withdrawn Raptors in early June. At least two other Colorado players are expected to make the move west.
