Dallas grabs Colorado scrumhalf Carlo de Nysschen

The Dallas Jackals have confirmed the signature of Carlo de Nysschen for the 2021 Major League Rugby Season. He is the second scrumhalf locked in by the expansion side, following South Korea sevens rep Jinho Mun, and arrives from the withdrawn Colorado Raptors.

de Nysschen will celebrate his 24th birthday next month and according to a Jackals release is now US-qualified on residency. Originally from Bloemfontein, South Africa, he moved stateside in 2017 and joined the Raptors academy having previously played for the Blue Bulls and Cheetahs at age-grade level.

After serving an apprenticeship under former Eagles starter Shaun Davies, de Nysschen took on a more prominent role with the Raptors in 2020. He started three of five games and scored two tries, splitting time with USA international Nick Boyer.
