The Austin Gilgronis have confirmed their third returning player for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. Rodrick Waters has re-signed with the club, the winger following tighthead prop Mason Pedersen and fullback Zinzan Elan-Puttick in committing to the AG’s.
Waters, 26, made his league debut against Rugby United New York in Week Two of the 2020 campaign. The speedster impressed enough to secure the No11 shirt for the remaining three matches. A native of Richmond, Texas, he was on the extended roster for the Houston SaberCats in 2019 but did not make a regular season appearance.
While all three signings for 2021 thus far are returnees, a significant number of new players are expected in Austin. Already confirmed is an all-changed coaching staff with Australian duo Sam Harris and Mark Gerrard arriving after professional stints in Japan.
