Former England captain Chris Robshaw is heading for Major League Rugby, but not to New York. The 34-year-old flanker has signed a two-year deal that will see him joining the San Diego Legion after his commitments to long-time club Harlequins comes to an end this fall.
Robshaw had considered a move to the Big Apple and even met with the Rugby United New York management earlier this year but in the end has chosen the opposite coast. He joins an already impressive loose forward cast that includes Eagles duo Psalm Wooching and Tevita Tameilau.
A veteran of 66 tests, Robshaw is one of the most prominent figures in English rugby. He was named captain by then-coach Stuart Lancaster for the 2012 Six Nations and led the national side through the 2015 World Cup. In his 16-year career with Harlequins he has amassed more than 200 Premiership starts.
