Matt Harmon has signed a two-year contract extension with the NOLA Gold. With one year still remaining on his current agreement, the new deal sees the versatile front rower staying in New Orleans through the 2023 Major League Rugby season.
Harmon follows teammate Moni Tonga’uiha in committing his long-term future to NOLA. Like the flanker, Harmon also enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2020 despite the shortened season. The 24-year-old started all five games at loosehead prop alongside internationals Eric Howard and Dino Waldren.
A native of Lake Forest, Illinois, Harmon captained the University of Kansas before transferring to Life University. There he was a first team All-American and won a national championship in 2018. The Gold snapped up Harmon in late 2018 and he played 13 games with 6 starts in 2019.
