Raptors prop Blake Rogers signs for LA Giltinis

Colorado Raptors prop Blake Rogers has signed for the LA Giltinis. The 25-year-old confirmed the move on a recent edition of the MLR Rant podcast. In doing so Rogers returns to his home state, albeit 450 miles (725 km) south of his native Colusa.

Rogers did not make an appearance during the shortened 2020 Major League Rugby campaign due to injury, but has been a regular at loosehead for the Raptors since joining in 2017. Across the 2018 and 2019 MLR seasons he missed only one game and started in 17 of 25 appearances.

While the Giltinis are yet to formally confirm any signings, it’s understood that more Raptors have joined and will be unveiled in the coming weeks. Colorado announced their sudden withdrawal from the league shortly after the 2020 season was suspended. Multiple Raptors have since signed for Dallas via the expansion draft with others in negotiations elsewhere.
