Carlin Isles named in LA Dream Team

USA star Carlin Isles has been named in the official HSBC Dream Team for the Los Angeles Sevens. The 30-year-old winger scored five tries during the tournament, the first being the 200th of his World Sevens Series career. Teammate Perry Baker followed him to the milestone in the very next game.

Isles was the only Americas representative named in the team, with Argentina’s teenage sensation Marcos Moneta just missing out after finishing the event as joint-leading try scorer with Scotland’s Alec Coombes. Danny Barrett was another popular figure who missed out as the two finalists dominated selection.

Three Fijians earned recognition, including forwards Asaeli Tuivuaka and Sevuloni Mocenacagi and the electric Napolioni Balaca. Earning the call for Cup Final winners South Africa were forward JC Pretorius and playmaker Stedman Gans. Australia’s Lachie Miller rounds out the side.
