Francisco Gorrissen has signed a central contract with the UAR. The 25-year-old flanker from Belgrano Athletic club in Buenos Aires is now officially a full-time Jaguar, a first in his career.
Gonzalo Quesada started Gorrissen against the Sunwolves in 2019, doing so ahead of Pumas. In 2020 this has continued with Gorrissen playing flanker against the Lions and being the rear target at the lineout. This is to continue against the Hurricanes this coming Saturday.
Gorrissen was not considered for RWC 2019, although he did propel his career forward by leading Los Jaguares XV to the Currie Cup First Division title. With Pablo Matera and Juan Manuel Leguizamón gone from Super Rugby, Gorrissen not only has more opportunities but he has been preferred to players who did play at RWC 2019.
His central contract with the UAR means is until the end of 2020. The contract means that he will be available for all Argentine representative and professional teams for the duration of the year.
