Two North American internationals went head-to-head in the first match of the 2020 Super Rugby season earlier today. Tony Lamborn’s Blues were at home in Auckland but it was the visiting Chiefs, featuring Tyler Ardron, who took the spoils in an exciting derby between the two North Island sides.
Lamborn was making his first start in the competition and made his Blues debut a memorable one. The US Eagles flanker ran a perfect support line off a TJ Faiane line break, taking the inside pass and sprinting over for his first Super Rugby try and the first points of the 2020 season.
