New owners for Rugby United New York

Rugby United New York have announced a significant addition to their ownership group. New Zealand-based private investment company Bolton Equities have purchased an equal share of the team – reportedly 40% – from majority owner James Kennedy, with Pierre Arnald continuing as a partner.

Bolton Equities have previously invested in Auckland and North Harbour provincial rugby, and owned 40% of the Blues Super Rugby franchise until a change in board governance required them to sell their share in 2018. The company was founded by current chairman Murray Bolton.

Guy Bolton will be tasked with finding a new CEO, a role previously filled by Arnald. Bolton will join with Kennedy to build RUNY’s business strategy. Kennedy is the founder and CEO of construction management company Murphy Kennedy Group.
