The Toronto Arrows have confirmed their on-field leaders for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. Continuity has been a feature of the roster and is again as winger Dan Moor will captain the side with flanker Lucas Rumball named vice-captain. The duo were named co-captains in 2019 but it was Moor who handled much of the game day duties.
Both are Canadian internationals. Moor put himself back into test contention with a standout season in 2019. He played in all 17 games for the Arrows, starting 16 and scoring a team-leading seven tries. It wasn’t enough to win the 29-year-old a spot in the World Cup squad but he remains an essential component of the Arrows backline.
Rumball was part of Canada’s leadership group in Japan, and at the age of just 24 has already captained his country in six tests. He managed just five matches for Toronto in 2019, missing early parts of the season with international commitments and the latter stretch with a knee injury. Now fully fit, he will be a staple in an impressive all-international back row trio alongside Uruguay’s Manuel Diana and former Argentina starter Tomás de la Vega.
