Ceibos sign World Cup center Lucas Mensa

Los Ceiboes have pulled off a notable coup in signing a RWC Puma. With the inside center position being covered at Los Jaguares, Lucas Mensa will not play Super Rugby but SLAR in 2020.

The 23-year-old Mensa played two test matches for Argentina in 2019. Hie test debut was against South Africa in Pretoria where he impressed to book a spot on the RWC 2019 roster. At Japan 2019 Mensa earned his second cap. It came from the bench against England on Tokyo.

For Los Ceibos the signing is their biggest yet. The roster contains Argentina XV and u20s players but Mensa is the only fully-capped name thus far. He is the fourth center on the roster following Facundo Ferraro, Agustín Segura, and Teo Castiglioni.

In joining Los Ceibos the remarkable fact continues for Lucas Mensa – he has played at a Rugby World Cup but has never played a game of Super Rugby for Los Jaguares.
