Eurosport has named German Kessler as the revelation of 2019. The Uruguayan has been described as having been a stand-out performer at RWC 2019. The accolade comes following his recent move from Uruguay to Charente in France’s Pro D2.
The 25-year-old, Kessler has 53 caps for Los Teros. He played in RWCs 2015, and 2019, scoring a try against Wales in Kumamoto. He is remembered on match highlights for his pass off the deck to Santiago Arata in his try against Fiji in Kamaishi.
Kessler has 14 tries to his name, making him the third highest try-scorer from a front-rower in the history of test match rugby. He is behind retired Irish hooker Keith Wood (15), and current USA hooker Joe Taufete’e (20).
