The Seattle Seawolves have secured the signature of second row Jérémy Lenaerts for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. It’s a third consecutive campaign at Starfire Stadium for the 27-year-old Belgian age grade international, who joins returning Brad Tucker and newcomer FP Pelser in Seattle’s engine room.
Lenaerts has been a regular in the match day rosters for the Seawolves across the two title-winning seasons. He has suited up in 20 of the team’s 28 games with 9 of them starts. Standing 6’4″ (1.93m), the former Collegiate All-American is known for his powerful ball carrying and strong set piece game.
Like teammate Riekert Hattingh, Lenaerts also qualifies for the USA on residency and has made no secret of his desire to challenge for Eagles honors though he also remains eligible to represent Belgium. He is the 11th player to sign on for more at Seattle, with four new players confirmed to date.
