Brazil crowned Valentín Martínez Champions

Brazil’s women were crowned champions of the 2019 Valentín Martínez in Montevideo. In doing so they furthered their long-standing supremacy in Sudamérica Women’s competition by winning the South American women’s title for the 17th time.

The title came by completing a 19-10 win over Argentina in the final. Coming in third was Colombia who are to face Argentina in a qualifying series to determine who will compete in next year’s world Sevens Women’s circuit.

Finishing in fourth position were Paraguay. They fell to a 17-10 defeat against the Colombians. Peru were next best in 5th followed by Chile in 6th; Costa Rica in 7th; Guatamala in 8th; and hosts Uruguay finished bottom of the standings.
