The Americas will have five match officials on the 2019-2020 senior World Sevens Series panel. It’s an increase of three from the 2018-19 season, with Canada’s Julianne Zussman, Uruguay’s Francisco González, and Argentina’s Nehuén Jauri-Rivero all joining the rotation for the first time.
It has been a rapid rise for Zussman, who formally announced her retirement from playing just a year ago. The 32-year-old represented Canada at three World Cups, winning 44 caps as a fullback while also playing in two World Sevens Series tournaments.
González and Jauri-Rivero are well-known in the South American circuit and have previous experience at international competitions. Both were part of the Hong Kong Qualifier tournament in March with González then part of the Nations Cup and Jauri-Rivero an assistant at the u20 Championship.
A second Argentine, Damián Schneider, returns for his fourth year on the circuit, with the USA’s Emily Hsieh back for her second season. Scotland’s Sam Grove-White spent time in the United States in recent months as a guest official in Major League Rugby.
