Old Glory DC have confirmed the signature of Josh Brown for their inaugural Major League Rugby season in 2020. It comes as no surprise, with Brown captaining the side during their spring exhibition campaign. The 31-year-old Maryland native was the first player officially signed by the expansion side in March.
Brown’s first experience with MLR competition came with the Capital Selects, lining up opposite both the NOLA Gold and Houston SaberCats in the spring of 2018. The powerhouse No8 then suited up for the New England Free Jacks against Rugby United New York in December of last year.
Three new names have already been confirmed by the Washington DC side for the 2020 campaign. New Zealand-born prop Gordon Fullerton and Penn State pair Mike Dabulas and Jack McLean have put pen to paper. Other established MLR players are expected to join including current Eagles center Thretton Palamo, who starred for the SaberCats this past season.
