Jaguares XV score over 100 points against Valke

Los Jaguares XV scored over 100 points in a massive win this morning against Valke. The Argentine side converted a 68-0 half-time lead into a 122-19 victory.

Ignacio Fernández Lobbe’s side scored ten first half tries, nine of which were converted by Domingo Miotti. The 2019 Super Rugby rookie continues to give Mario Ledesma reason to select him to face South Africa in Pretoria next Saturday, on August 17.

In the second half there would be eight further tries from Los Jaguares XV. Valke would open their account and score a total of three tries.

The non-stop action included four tries to Jaguares XV center Agustín Segura. He played outside Juan Cruz Mallía who would score two tries of his own.

Having been a fullback for Los Jaguares in Super Rugby this year, Mallía is now being prepared for a potential utility spot at RWC 2019. Argentina is lacking options in the centers. Jerónimo de la Fuente, Matías Moroni, and Matías Orlando are to play though a fourth is required. Mallía looms as the most likely player.

The win sees Los Jaguares XV continuing to remain unbeaten in the Currie Cup First Division. The Argentine side has claimed a bonus point win in every match to have the maximum possible number of competition points.

Los Jaguares XV will play again next weekend, doing so against the Leopards. The fixture is to be the final match of the regular season. Los Jaguaares XV have already qualified for the Semi Finals.
