NOLA sign former Brumbies back Robbie Coleman

The NOLA Gold have revealed their latest signing for the 2020 Major League Rugby season. Former Brumbies utility back Robbie Coleman has signed a three-year deal that will see him through the 2022 season in New Orleans. The 29-year-old recently played for Gordon in the Shute Shield after two injury-ravaged seasons.

A two-time u20 World Championship participant, Coleman also won a Silver Medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games with the Australian Sevens side. He is best known for a six year run with the Brumbies that saw him play in 80 matches for the ACT side including playoff starts in 2014 and 2015.

Coleman signed for the Western Force ahead of the 2017 season but played only one game after suffering a serious ankle injury that sidelined him until early 2018 when he spent two months on loan at Narbonne after the Force were axed by the ARU.

An elusive runner, Coleman’s ability to step off either foot made him as effective in the midfield as in the outside backs despite his small stature. He can also cover at flyhalf, where he spent much of his recent time at Gordon. Coleman joins former Queensland Reds halfback Scott Gale in New Orleans.
