Nahuel Milan Departs Argentina for Italy

Nahuel Milan has departed Argentina to play in Italy. The The second-rower joins Top 12 side Lazio from San Fernando in Buenos Aires, doing so after previously having represented his country at junior levels.

A large athlete of 2 meters in height and weighing 122kg, Milan has the frame to succeed in the Italian domestic competition.

Milan was a Pumita in 2016 and 2017, appearing in the World Rugby U20 Championship in which he made six appearances. In the 2017 competition he joined Jaguares Santiago Carreras, Bautista Delguy, Lucas Paulos, and Mayco Vivas. Of them Delguy, and Vivas are capped by Argentina.

In 2016 he was a part of the team which defeated South Africa to finish third in the U20 Championship. He was joined by Jaguares players Juan Cruz Mallía, Bautista Delguy, Santiago Medrano, Marcos Kremer, and Domingo Miotti.

Not only have a number of the players from the 2016 and 2017 Pumitas become Pumas but others are close. A large contingent are presently in South Africa playing for Los Jaguares XV in the Currie Cup First Division.

For those left out the opportunity from Europe is appealing. Needless to say Milan’s move to Italy comes at an opportunistic time to help lift his career.

Despite being uncapped by Argentina Milan is captured by the UAR due to having played for the Argentina XV against the test sides of Brazil, and Paraguay.
