Americas Rankings – July 28 2019

Following the completion of international competition this weekend the Americas Rankings have been updated for July 28 2019. They take into consideration results of capped test matches involving countries from the Americas.

Australia’s 16-10 over Argentina represents a gain of 0.23 points for the home side at the expense of the visitors. The updated Americas rankings thereby see Argentina falling to a ranking of 76.81 points.

The USA’s 47-19 win over Canada saw the Eagles winning by a larger margin than the maximum. With it the USA gained maximum points on offer from this match. Yet with the respective rankings of the USA, and Canada being separated by so many points neither country’s ranking has been altered.

The match between the USA, and Canada was a part of the Pacific Nations Cup (PNC). Additional results in the PNC saw Samoa winning at home 25-17 against Tonga, and Japan downing Fiji 34-21 in Kamaishi. Fiji’s updated ranking is 76.98 which sees the Pacific Islanders retaining 9th in the world ahead of Argentina in 10th.

The Americas Rankings will be updated again next weekend. They will take into account results from round two of the PNC. Matches see Samoa vs USA on Friday; Fiji vs Canada on Saturday; and Japan vs Tonga also on Saturday.
