Another high profile name will be competing in Major League Rugby next season. The San Diego Legion have unveiled the signing of Welsh international Dominic Day. The second-rower joins from English Premiership champions Saracens.
The 33-year-old native of West Wales has had a decorated playing career. He was a Welsh representative at the u19 and u21 levels and also won three caps for Wales at test level. His last appearance was at the 2015 World Cup against Uruguay in Cardiff.
As a professional rugby player Day has played the world over. He began in Llanelli for the Scarlets in 2006. In 2012 he moved to England to join Bath on a four year deal which would be the first of two English clubs.
Before joining Saracens in 2016 Day had a season in Japan for the Toyota Blitz, and in Australia for the Melbourne Rebels in Super Rugby.
Day arrives in MLR after making 32 appearances for Saracens. He follows the recent signing of Steffon Armitage who is moving to California from Pau in the Top 14.
