Brazil Lineup Named for Germany

The Tupis Head Coach Rodolfo Ambrósio has named his roster for tonight’s home international against Germany in Blumenau. In what is to be the first of a two-test series the countries will meet for the first time in history on a rugby field.

The Argentine coach has gone for a team featuring eight changes from the team that most recently represented Brazil at test level. On that occassion Brazil was badly beaten at home by Paraguay which has subsequently raised questions surrounding Paraguay not being a part of the new Americas Rugby Cup (Americas Six Nations)

Included to face Germany are two players based outside of Brazil, both of which qualify for the Tupis on eligibility grounds. David Harvey of the NSA Country Eagles in Australia’s domestic professional competition will play fly half while Yan Rosetti of Matías Moroni’s club, CUBA has been named to start at hooker.

Two further hermanos are to feature from the bench – Caique Silva and Stefano Giantorno.

Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30pm local time and the match will be broadcast live on Sportv in Brazil.
